If you’re an incoming first-year student, you may have the opportunity to receive college credits toward your NJIT degree before you even start classes. To receive transfer credits, you can use your College Board Advanced Placement (AP) examination scores, International Baccalaureate exam scores (IB), or college-level courses you may have completed during your time in high school.
For any student who has already taken AP/IB exams or has college credits from high school, read below for more information. All other transfer students should review the transfer student requirements and details section of our site.

Students who have completed Pearson Advanced-level (A-level) credits may request their official grade transcripts (A-level transcript request) be sent to the NJIT Office of University Admissions (admissions@js-ayds.com).
To initiate an evaluation, students may email transfer@js-ayds.com with their syllabi for the courses they are seeking transfer credit for. All credits are evaluated on a case-by-case basis by the academic department(s) responsible for the subject(s).
Credit for College-Level Courses
In order to receive credit for any college level courses taken during high school, students must submit their official transcripts to NJIT for review. If your courses meet the following criteria, the appropriate academic department will determine whether or not credit will be awarded.
-
Students must earn a grade of C or better to be considered for credit.
-
Course content is also used to determine a course's equivalency to an NJIT course.
-
Students must submit an official transcript from each college where a course was completed. Courses are evaluated upon submission and approved by the NJIT academic department.
If you have any questions regarding credit transfers, please email admissions@js-ayds.com or call us at 973-596-3300.
